Photobook/NZ Festival — Folio Box Sets

Craig Potton and I are showing our Folio Box Sets at Photospace Gallery as part of the New Zealand Photobook Festival — Craig's Moment & Memory alongside my Silence — the same portfolios we first exhibited together at his gallery in Nelson last year, now up in Wellington for the week of the festival.
Folio Box Sets
In an era dominated by digital portfolios, the Folio Box Set revives the near-lost art of owning a complete, tactile collection of fine art prints. Pioneered by photographers like Ansel Adams and Eliot Porter, these sets offer a way to hold a body of work as a curated, collectible whole. Craig and I spent the past year refining every print and building these by hand — each set showing our own, quite different interpretations of the New Zealand landscape.
Visiting the Exhibition
The box sets will be on the wall at Photospace Gallery, 1st floor, 37 Courtenay Place, Wellington, from Friday 7 to Saturday 15 August. Gallery hours are 10am–2pm Monday to Friday, and 11am–2pm Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday 9 August, Craig and I will be minding the gallery ourselves.
Artist Talk
We'll be giving a short talk about the work at 11:30am that Sunday.
Photobook/NZ Bookfair
Craig and I will also have the box sets on the table at the Photobook/NZ Bookfair, Saturday 8 August, 10am–4pm, The Wedge, Level 4, Te Papa.

My Silence portfolio presents an alternative view of the New Zealand landscape — minimalist photographs that invite the viewer to listen, letting the silence speak in the space between objects and the voids surrounding them.

Craig's portfolio brings together a selection of his finest photographs, offering his own perspective on the New Zealand wilderness — from lush forest interiors to sweeping seascapes and mountains.
