I did not come here to discover silence; I came to deepen my understanding and experience its profound connection with the landscape. Where every sound is swallowed by the whiteness of winter—pure snowflakes absorb every void—along with my footsteps as I walk into the stillness of its depths. Silence emerges as a living presence rather than an absence.

Silence #2, Hokkaido (2025) is a continuation of Silence, New Zealand (2020-2022). This evolving body of work will develop its own direction, as I return to Japan to immerse myself in stillness of winter here over the next few years.
